1 1/2 Weeks!

Tanner is 1 1/2 weeks old and he is such a sweet little boy. I was excited to have a boy but a little nervous because I am so used to having a little girl. I love having a boy, he is such a joy. He is doing great at night, except a couple of times he thought it was awake time at night but for the past week he has been going back to sleep at night after he is fed. Sometimes he goes 4 hours at night before eating again. Its hard to tell what his kind of personality he has but he does hate his diaper being changed. He really doesn't get too upset though. He is really good at sucking his pacifier. He eats pretty fast, 20-30 minutes. I consider that fast compared to my last child. I am pretty sure he is going to be pretty chubby and quickly. He only lost 2 oz in the hospital and when he went to the doctor on Tuesday he weighed 8 pounds 10 oz, so he well on his way to keeping up those cheeks.

Ella still loves him but she leaves him alone for the most part, which is really nice. She will talk to him and give him kisses on the head but then she goes on about her business. So far shes adjusted really well but we'll see how life is when it gets back to me, Tanner, and her. My mom was helping me for a week and now Dave is home for a week. It has been really nice to have help. Really the biggest help is keeping Ella occupied.

On rare occassion we do see his eyes.

Ella's new love is the hose, she always wants me to turn it on. I am all about her being outside and having fun so I let her have at it.

We Are Home!

We are all home now, and it is so good to be home. I was determined to be out of that hospital in 24 hours, since I was stuck in the hospital with Ella for 3 days. We made it pretty close to 24 hours.

Everything went so well. I went to see my doctor Monday morning and then I was able to go to the hospital at 11:30 am to be induced. When I got to the hospital I was already having contractions since my doctor had stripped my membranes. Then they started me on pitocin. After they started me on pitocin I got my epidural. They didn't give me too much pitocin though because Tanner was not a fan of it, his heart rate would drop. My doctor came at 6:00 pm to break my water and thats when things really started to progress. He ended up coming at 8:08 pm. With Ella I had to push for an hour and the doctor still had to help me get her out. With Tanner I pushed for 15 or 20 minutes with no problem.

He is doing great, he was fabulous in the hospital. We kept in our room the whole time and I loved it. I feel great, I didn't know I could feel this good after having a baby. Since we both were doing so well, we decided to come home last night. It was supposed to be at 8:00 but we didn't end up leaving until after 10. We all had a great night, he did great for his first night. We all slept much better then we did at the hosptial. I am just so grateful that he is here and he is such a joy to have.

Ella seems to love him so far. When she came to the hospital she was excited to see him and she wanted to hold him. She seemed really excited and was totally okay with everything. When she came home today she was so excited to see him. She keeps putting blankets on him and giving him toys. He was given a couple of stuffed animals, she went and got those immediately from his bedroom and put them around him. I was surprised she went and got his stuffed animals for him because she loves them and always wants to play with them.

It was cute because I put him in bed for one of his naps and she kept trying to get in the room. She was talking outside the door saying "Tanner, you awake yet". So she has really liked him so far but I am sure she may struggle with him a bit but I am just going to enjoy the fact that she likes him so far.

Right after he was born, they brought him right up on my tummy.

He Has Arrived!

He is here, yeah! Tanner Christian Kemp was born at 8:08 pm last night. He weighed 8 pounds 4 oz, 20 inches long. He is healthy and hopefully we can go home late tonight or tomorrow morning. He is so cute and has dark hair that I am pretty sure will fall out. I will post pictures when I get home, I just wanted to let everyone know that he is here and we are so happy to have him here. My labor and delivery was amazing, I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Good News!

I went to Doctor today because I now go every Monday and he had some good news. I am progressing some, dialated to a 3 and 50% effaced. So that is good. I am technically due on the 21 and he is going out of town the 17-21. I got an ultrasound today to see how big they think he is and he is already 7 1/2 pounds. He asked when I wanted to be induced if I didn't have him soon. At first I thought well I should let him go the whole time and wait until the 22 but after I found out that he is already plenty big, we decided that next Monday was a good day if there is room in the hospital and if I don't have him before then. So I will hopefully only have, at the most, 1 week left. I am so excited, it is kind of crazy how great my doctor is and will do whatever I want, within reason of course. There is a chance he may induce me even earlier. My platlet count has been dropping, he said if drops too much more he will have to induce me sooner. I am going to get my blood drawn today or tomorrow, so who knows maybe he'll come earlier. 

I'm just WAITING!

In case anyone has been wondering, I am still pregnant. I know I have a little over two weeks until my official due date but it has been one long week for me becuase I planned on being ready for him by the beginning of June, since Ella came three weeks early. Now I feel like I am just waiting and I am feeling a little impatient. I know I need to enjoy my time with just Ella but I am just so excited to hold and have him that its hard. I can tell that he is still growing, so I am getting bigger and more tired. I have been taking a nap almost everyday. It was really cute because the other day Ella wouldn't take a nap so I put on a movie for her and laid on the couch. After I had fallen asleep I felt someone putting a blanket on me, its was Ella putting her blanket on me. I told her thank you and went back to sleep. You know when you get that feeling that someone is right by your face and you wake up, well Ella was right in my face and its because she was giving me a kiss and she said good night. I thought it was really sweet. 

Since I was trying to have everything ready by June, his nursery is basically done. It turned out how I wanted it.
