Let's go fly a kite

We had fun the other night flying kites.

Tanner thought it was so funny to let go of his kite and then watch us go chase it.

I just wanted to do a little highlight for Father's Day. I think Dave had a good day, I know the rest of us did. We had been preping all week to give him his gifts. We took some pictures with letters that spelt dad, that we put in a frame for him to take to work. We gave him lots of candy, a new BBQ grill, and a homemade card. Ella made it the whole week without spilling the beans, which I thought was a miracle. They couldn't wait to give him his gifts. We had a yummy steak dinner with my parents.

We are so grateful for Dave and all he does. He is a fabulous dad and husband. We love him.

We are also grateful for the grandpa's. They are great examples and we love them as well.

Airplanes (he says this word at least 100 times a day, I'm not exaggerating)

He loves Ella and loves to make her mad.

Tanner loves to mow the lawn with Dave so we got him an actual lawn mower for his birthday so he didn't have to use his golf bag.

My good friend Julie gave him some cute cars. She also made him some yummy and very cute cupcakes.

On his birthday we took the kids to Eatza Pizza for dinner. They loved playing the games after too.

Tanner is obsessed with airplanes and he thought his cake was pretty neat. I ran out of candles and didn't realize it so we used matches. They scared him and he started to cry, typical of Tanner. We had a little party on Father's Day. My parents came over for a BBQ, cake, and presents.

Hawaii

Dave and I were able to go to Hawaii without kids. We had an amazing time. About a year ago, Dave's brothers offered us some buddy passes and so we decided to do Hawaii. I was a little nervous doing standby for Hawaii but we did anyway. Our chances looked good until a couple of days before the flight. The day of our flight there was no way we were going to make the flight, so we bought real tickets last minute and I am so happy we did. It was nice to know we were going and it was totally worth it.

We had so much fun. We went to the PCC, saw the Laie Temple, went para sailing, snorkeling, went to Pearl Harbor, shopping at an outlet mall, Dole plantation, a beautiful botanical garden, and just had fun having some free time together.

Thank to my parents we were able to go and not worry about the kids. They had so much fun too. They did the slip-n-slide, rode grandpa's motorcycle, Tanner got to see a helicopter take off, Tanner got to go to work with grandpa, eat Cheetos and juice, and watch movies. They love grandma's house.

We had so much fun together but half way into the second day I started to miss my kids. I noticed by the end of our trip that we talked about the kids more and more. We had a fun 5 days but I was ready to hold and kiss my kids again. I highly recommend every couple going, it was relaxing and its just beautiful there. Being away from my kids definitely made me appreciate them more and I have been spoiling them since I got home.

Para sailing was a lot of fun but my only recommendation is to take a motion sickness pill if you have a tendency to get sick.

Snorkeling at Shark's Cove. Dave is out there somewhere. I was so happy that Dave was able to do it easily since he can't really swim.

Preschool Pictures

Ella got her picture taken a while back, it was done through her preschool and I think the pictures turned out cute. The photographer had Ella take her glasses off for the picture. I'm not sure how I felt about that but its done and they are cute. I can kind of tell that her one eye is struggling to look straight without her glasses.

The Little Things

I've been thinking about the little things in my life lately, my kids in particular. They are both so funny and fill my life with such joy. I want to remember and I want them to remember the little things we did together each day. I want them to remember the dance parties in the car, going to the park, reading books, playing and so many other things. But here are a few that I snapped a photo of.

Music Performance

Ella was in a music class that was taught by a friend in my ward. It was an awesome class and Ella loved it. I was so excited for her performance in June because she wouldn't sing or show me anything when she came home from class. Sadly her teacher had to stop teaching because it was too much. So there was no performance. A friend of mine decided to have a couple of the kids and their families over for FHE to have the kids perform. It turned out so cute and they did great. It was nice to see Ella perform. I recorded it but I'm not going to post it because they asked us not to. Sorry, it was pretty entertaining.
