Minute to Win It

This year we did a night of Minute to Win It games, it was so much fun. The kids played with us and did a great job. I know I laughed until I cried.

Fun Festivities

We have had a fun time preparing for Christmas. Our elf, Ajin, returned. He has been up to some pretty silly things this year. He started December by painting the kids noses red like Rudolph's. He has ended up in funny places, he's played games with other toys, changed one of our doll's poopy diaper, and several other things. 

The kids love our advent calendar and it is one of the first things they ask about in the morning. We did gingerbread houses, saw Christmas lights, saw two reindeer, did crafts with friends, made candy trains, dinner by the Christmas tree, and other fun events. 

We also started a new tradition called "25 Days of Christ." Each day the kids received a new ornament that had a story to go along with it that was about our Savior. They loved it. 

My very tall 4 month old

Seriously, this little girl is such a good baby. She has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 months old. She sleeps 8:00 pm to 7:30 am. She is just a happy little thing. Her favorite thing is to lay under her play structure on the floor. She has really started to talk and laugh, which is fun. She loves to stand. Her favorite person is mom and I love it. Her stats; her head is in the 60 percentile, she weighs exactly 15 lbs - 81 percentile, and she is 26.5 inches long. She is off the charts for her length, which is crazy to me. It'll be interesting to see if she continues to be long. I have been noticing that some of her pants that are 3-6 months are a little short. She is learning to like the car, she is getting better and I hope that continues. 

I can do hard things

About a month and half ago I got a call from a member of the bishopric asking if I would be in charge of the Ward Christmas Party. WHAT! I wanted to say no but couldn't. I immediately felt very overwhelmed. Our ward always has awesome ward parties and I'm not that amazing person that throws big parties. So I called 5 amazing women to be on my committee. After they all said yes, I immediately felt a little better. I have been planning and not sleeping well for weeks, but it all came together. Of course, there were those last minute hiccups. Two people canceled on me the day before, they both had good reasons but it was still very stressful for me. We had breakfast for dinner; cinnamon rolls, Costco muffins, sausage, breakfast casseroles, fruit, juice, and hot chocolate. We had pictures with Santa and a short program about the true meaning of Christmas. We also had a sing a long for the kids and coloring while the kids waited for dinner to start. Everyone was invited to come in their jammies.  But with the help of many many amazing people, I did something that was hard and I'm so glad its over.

Gobble Gobble

I know I'm a little behind but better late than never. We went to my parents for Thanksgiving. It was a fun and very relaxing week. The kids had lots of fun playing together. They went on an apple hunt, we did some fun crafts, and played in the leaves. On Thanksgiving we had yummy food and some extra company, my dad's brother and his family came. So grateful for family and good friends. Soffie started sleeping through the night at my mom's too, what a great present from her. 

Halloween Week

Wow, I'm kind of glad Halloween is over. It has become quite the extravaganza. We had four different opportunities to trick-or-treat and the kids got way to much candy. We went to the school trunk-or-treat, the church trunk-or-treat, we went to Dave's work, and then Halloween night. I let them eat as much as they wanted after the school and church trunk-or-treat but after that I decided they'd had enough. I asked if I could buy their candy, they both loved the idea and are quite happy with their toys. I'm grateful to have children that aren't overloaded with sugar anymore. Tanner was Bob the builder, Ella was a good witch, and Soffie was a ladybug. 

We kept with our tradition, we went trick-or-treating with my cousin and her kids. They had so much fun. Sadly, this will be our last time for at least a couple of years because they are moving this Summer. We will miss our trick-or-treating buddies.
